Eleven year-old Kenny Leseur is the 2015 Aon Benfield Fecchio Cup Champion after holding off Dakota Lamb with a final round 82. Kenny’s steady play through the first 13 holes saw him maintain his 5 shot lead which was tested as both players slipped up over Port Royal’s closing stretch. In the end, Kenny tapped in for a routine par on the 18th to close out a six shot victory. Samson Douglas finished in third place.

Joe Watson took a one shot lead into the 17th hole but came unstuck with a 9 and Alex Withers-Clarke took full advantage with a bogey of his own to take a two shot lead into the 18th. Joe could only match Alex’s score up the last leaving Alex the winner by two strokes. Kian Mooney had the next best round of the day, jumping into third place, one ahead of Ryan Clements.

Finn Watson and Callum Pearce saved their best rounds for last firing rounds of 38 and 36, respectively, over Port Royals’ tough closing 6 holes. Callum’s 2nd round score left him with just too much to do as Finn prevailed by 1 shot. Eliza Withers-Clarke was tied for the lead standing on the 16th tee but she stumbled on the picturesque par 3 and finished in third place. Finn Moseley finished in fourth after shooting his best round of the tournament today.

The BJGA would like to thank the Fecchio Family for their continued support of the BJGA and this event, together with Aon Benfield who are the title sponsor. Port Royal was in fantastic condition for this event - thank you to Dennis Pilgrim and his team together with Greg Maybury and Alex Madeiros. Thank you also to Bella Vista Bar and Grill for catering the prize presentation.

The steady Port Royal breeze combined with the quick greens made life difficult for the juniors today but they made for a great equalizer as all divisions are fairly tight at the top.

Dakota Lamb was going well on the front nine, making the turn at 4 over par, but struggled on the more exposed back nine to finish with a 17 over par score of 88. Kenny Leseur figured out the greens but put himself in trouble too many times off the tee and sits only one shot back after finishing with an 89. Samson Douglas is in third after a 97.

Port Royal is a long, tough course at the best of times and even the relatively mild conditions today resulted in some higher than expected scores, so to ensure that the event is both competitive and enjoyable, the BJGA created a 12 hole Red Tee Division. The two BJGA members back for Christmas break from boarding school have taken a slim lead - Joe Watson and Alex Withers-Clarke each shot rounds of 64 for the 12 holes, 1 shot ahead of Ryan Clements. There is a group of players including Kian Mooney (73), Marcos Furr and Benjamin Betschart (both 74), a little further behind but by no means out of touch.

In the novice division, which is played over 6 holes per day, Callum Pearce has taken an early lead after a round of 40. The other three players in the division are tightly bunched with Finn Moseley, Finn Watson and Eliza Withers-Clarke scoring 47, 48 and 51, respectively.

The second round of the Aon Benfield Fecchio Cup is in the books and all divisions are still wide open. The Championship Division has the biggest gap between first and second place, with Kenny Leseur jumping out to a 5 shot lead following his round of 80 today. Dakota Lamb is in second place after his round of 86. Both players will be thinking about what might have been with each of them taking a triple bogey and multiple double bogies. Samson Douglas improved on his opening round score with a round of 95.

Joe Watson and Alex Withers-Clarke remain tied and Ryan Clements remains one behind heading into the final rounds after all three players fired rounds of 65. Marcos Furr was the low round of the day and his 63 saw him leapfrog Kian Mooney (66) into fourth place, still only 8 shots behind the leaders.

In the Novice Division, Eliza Withers-Clarke fired the low round of the tournament so far with a round of 38 over the 6 hole novice course. Finn Watson shot a respectable round of 40 to take the division lead by one shot over Eliza. Callum Pearce, the first round leader, dropped to third after a round of 51 which was matched by Finn Moseley.

The full field scores and tee times for the final round are set out on the Tournament Page

Congratulations to Kenny Leseur who fired a brilliant, bogey-free round of 68 at Riddell's Bay. This is Kenny's second sub-par round this season - well done Kenny!

In the Red 18 hole division, Kian Mooney took the honours with a round of 107. Ethan Sousa was second this week.

Bnjamin Betschart was the low score in the 9 hole group with 53, closely followed by Aaron Kuhn and Adam Perry, the latter having joined the red tee group for the first time this week.

Well done all players and the full results are on the tournament page HERE. Next week we are at Tucker's Point on Sunday afternoon. We are becoming very light on volunteers for starters and marshals again - if you can help on any week please sign up on our Sign-Up Genius Site.
