Thank you for your patience as we get organised for our 2017/18 Season.

You may have noticed that your log-in for the website doesn’t work. We have disabled everyone’s profile to better track 2017 sign-ups and also to make sure our information is up to date. As you register for 2017/18, we will check your information and re-activate your BJGA account.

Novice Players

We are working with Port Royal, Ocean View and Kim Swan to finalise our schedule, but are planning on having similar times and locations as last year (Friday afternoons, Saturday mornings and afternoons). There is usually huge demand for Friday afternoon, so we are hoping to have 2 classes at Ocean View on Friday afternoons. Registration will open on September 10. Lessons will start the weekend of September 23.  The big change for this season in the Novices is the cost - cost will be $100 per 10 week term or $250 if you sign up for the full season (3 x 10 week terms, finishing in June).

Tournament and Intermediate Players

Returning and promoted players should have received an email during the week of August 28 with details on the 2017/18 season. In that notice we announced our new partnership with Port Royal and Ocean View Golf Courses, bringing together our members with their facilities and teachers. In a nutshell, membership with the BJGA will now include junior membership at both of Bermuda’s public golf courses. Cost for the season (through March, then we'll run seasons from April - March to match the government's fiscal year) will be $300.

The Tournament/Intermediate schedule through March has been just about set any through December has been posted online for weekly sign up. The times noted on the schedule are the first tee time booked that day. We have tried to keep the times late for a couple of reasons: (i) to beat the heat in the beginning of the season, and (ii) to avoid conflict with other sports. The later starts will also mean more weeks of 9-hole play, especially as we get to the dark days of winter.
With Chris Smith leading the instruction team at Port Royal, there will be clinic/game-based instruction set up at least once per month. The Intermediate players will again be weekly play on 6 – 9 "short" holes with tees in the fairways. As there will be a fair amount of walking between holes, to the extent possible we would like at least one parent with each group to keep the juniors on task between holes.
Tournament and Intermediate Player sign ups will be at Port Royal’s Pro Shop on Saturday, September 2 (between 3:00 – 4:00pm, golf starting at 4); Sunday, September 10 (between 12:00pm and 1:00pm, no golf after), and Saturday, September 16 (between 3:00pm and 4:00pm, then we will play 6-9 holes). You may sign up at other times with Port Royal's pro shop directly, but if you do so, please send Chris Brough an email or give him a call confirming you have registered and include the name of your junior, date of birth and best email address to reach you. Once you have signed up and your profile re-activated, you can sign up for weekly play on the website each week. Payment for the Tournament/Intermediate Groups will be made to Port Royal, not to Junior Golf – you may pay by cash or credit card at the Port Royal Pro Shop; please do not make payments to the junior golf account, as we will settle with Port Royal.
Wait, I'm brand new and have no idea where to start! First, thank your for your interest in junior golf. We've created this Matrix to help with deciding where your son/daughter would fit in our program. If in doubt or have any questions, please call Chris Brough at 533 2409.
